How do I place an ad?

If I want to mail or e-mail you a photo, how big does it need to be? What resolution?
 
Mailed photos should be at least 2 inches by 3 inches. Since we will be scanning your photo, the sharper it isand the better the contrast between your vehicle and the background in the photo the better your ad will appearin the magazine.We require your photo to meet the following specifications when submitting your photo via our web site:E-mailed photos should be at least 2 inches by 3 inches and 170 dpi.The file size should not be larger than 200k (maximum 1m). The file should be JPG. formatWe do not except any other type of file format. If the photo is being e-mailed it must be included as an attachment.



What goes in the Trim/Package field?
 
The Trim/Package is the option group that you buy from the dealer to enhance or upgrade your vehicle from thestandard offering. It usually has a name such as XLT, GT, Eddie Bauer Edition, Silverado, etc. It alsoincludes descriptions of the vehicle body, drive options, cab and bed upgrades such as 4x4, 2WD, ExtendedCab,SuperCab, long bed, convertible, etc.



What should I say in my ad?
 
Start by listing the Year, Make, Model and Trim/Package. These three items make up the header of your ad and willbe displayed in bold. After that, a typical ad may be arranged as follows: ( The information in bold is highlyrecommended based on feedback from our readers. )Engine type and/or size (4cyl, V8, 327 Chevy, etc.)Type of transmission (5spd or automatic)Option list (PS, AC, stereo, etc.)Color (exterior and interior, including interior material such as leather, cloth)Miscelaneous comments such as running condition, maintenance records, etc.Mileage, Price and Phone NumberVIN (required for office use only, the VIN will not be included in private party ads)A phone number is required for the ad to run.Sample Ad:1992 ACURA INTEGRA GL COUPE - 4cyl, auto, PS, PB, P/Windows,P/Moonroof, AM FM stereo cassette, AC, cruise, tilt, red with black cloth int,12 disc CD changer, great cond, 87,000 miles, $2500, 619-555-1234.The above ad description is 34 words.The ad size you select determines the maximum number of words allowed in your ad. You may use abbreviations toinclude more data in your ad. For example, 'power windows' counts as two words while 'P/windows' counts as one.



When is the deadline in order for me to get my vechicle into the magazine?
 
Our magazine is a weekly publication which comes out every Thursday. Our deadline in order to meet Thursday's publication is Friday before 3 p.m. for boat/rv,cycle,sportscar,marketplace and Tuesday by 5:00 p.m. for Import/Domestic,truck. These deadlines are for placement at the main office only. All internet placed ads deadline on the same days as stated above but at 3:00 p.m. (Subject to change pending if publication deadline falls on a holiday) Call Customer Care Department for details (949) 261-1150 As we approach our deadline, scheduling may be limited. We recommend that you call us Wednesday - Saturday between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for faster service!



My vehicle is in the Sports Car Magazine and I want to have it in the Auto Magazine instead!
 
The publisher has determined which vehicles fall into what magazines by collective information fromour valued customers over the years like yourself. Orange County Auto Trader Magazines accepts alladvertising and is subject to Publisher's determination as to placement and definition. Due to systemlimitations, vehicles must run in selected magazine based on Publisher's categorization.



Where can I purchase a magazine?
 
Our Magazines can be found at one of the followng Orange County convenience stores: CIRCLE K 7 - ELEVEN AM/PM Mini-Mart



How do I know which magazine my vehicle will be in?
 
Your receipt will indicate what magazine your vehicle will be located. If the magazine is not indicated on your receipt, Please contact our Customer Care Department at (949) 261-1150.



How much extra does it cost if I want to run my ad on the internet?
 
There is no charge to run your ad on our internet web site regardless of which ad you purchased.We post your photo (pre-set size for internet, applies to all internet ads) and description and runs concurrently in color on our web site as a courtesy and is updated weekly.



What is my Ad Id?
 
If you signed up online, you will have an ad id number given to you in an email after placing the ad. A rep can always look up your ad by the phone number you placed the ad under regardless of how you placed it.



What is the Runs 'Til It Sells* ?
 
Our disclaimer can be found on all the covers of our Orange County Auto Trader Magazines. The Runs 'Til It Sells applies to Private Party customers only. Runs 'Til It Sells program runs till it sells as long as call EVERY 8 WEEKS to keep the ad running continuously.
